"There are 42 gallons in a barrel. 200/42 = $4.76 per gallon in oil cost if all 42 gallons were made into gasoline. Add a dollar a gallon for refining, taxes, and for the fact that some of the 42 gallons are turned into slightly less valuable crack products on the average, and $5.75 per gasoline gallon sounds about right for $200 per gallon oil."

I did exactly the same calculation for myself yesterday.

That would work out to perhaps yield of $7.00 a share per year for COS.UN, or about 14% on the current price. And for certain very shrewd investors, such as David Culver, that's going to be about 200% yield per annum on their original basis. Yes, that's right: yield, not capital gains. The capital gains will probably be about 2000%. That's from maybe year 2001.
