I just finished watching "Into the Wild."

I read the book several years ago.

My synopsis of the movie is, this is a story about a self-absorbed, short-sighted young man who refused to recognize the people who touched his life and made it better and who tried to connect with him on a personal level. He died a lonely death that he need not have died. It was brought on by his foolishness and refusal to recognize those who tried to connect with him emotionally.

The movie is about what I'd expect from Sean Penn (director) but is also a reflection on the self-centered, "me" culture we seem to have adopted in this country.

'nuff said.
