Just for the record (and this is not meant as an attack on anyone), anyone who has watched the price movement on stocks, especially small stock or even more especially "infancy" stock like TMMI, and how that price behaves when flamers or people who simply sound really stupid and uninspiring start getting onto threads, as happened with this thread (lucky me) just after I bought in, knows that what people post does change and/or influence people. That's the whole point of "freedom of speech". We know what people say does influence people. Imagine that. Yet people on SI threads continuously try to downplay this, wanting perhaps to not encourage meanspirited flamers (it hasn't worked, the mean-spirited flamers haven't been detered by being told their meanness doesn't matter... in fact, they are usually the first ones to say that "what I'm doing here doesn't matter, it's the company that stinks"), or perhaps to excuse their own lapses. We'd all prefer it to not be true, but it is.
I bought TMMI, then sold all when the strange posts began, and I don't just mean flamers; I'm including the grammatically challenged, the silly posts, and so forth. Why? Because there are some 50,000 at least, and underline at least, people who check into SI threads each day. And before many of us buy, we check on what's being said on the threads. I used to try not to let other people's posts affect me too much; but I discovered that the stocks are affected. Therefore, I'd better be affected. If the posts turn negative or silly, you can be certain that, unless the company has great news coming out, that companies stock price will go down. On the other hand, if the posts are positive, the price will either be stable until the next news, or it will go up. Not 100% of the time, but so close you can "maybe" make your money just by selling when the flames begin, and buying when the posts are positive. Or, I suppose, as some do, creating the froth themselves and buying-selling as is appropriate to what they plan to do.
I'm still following the company because I've got the product. And I'll probably buy more stock when the posts are more mature, and positive as well. Like a lot of other people, apparently. The stock hasn't been going down just because of a lack of news. In fact, wasn't the last news pretty good, but the stock continued basically "down." The posts here on the news were so strange, a person had to know the stock would not do well. How could it? People checking the threads to size up the company, and what the news meant, couldn't leave the thread with that good, gut feeling which many people buying small stock base their decisions on (for better or worse). In other words, they were not inspired.
Well, I've got better things to do. I just needed to get it out of my system, even if just once. Don't believe the people who say what's being said doesn't affect investors. It's a no-brainer: people are moved by what other people say. People do sell because of strange or flaming posts. People do buy because a thread has positive posts and appears to show intelligent thought and analysis. And yes, advertisers and big companies do business based on the belief that perception counts.
In my opinion, investment talk threads/rooms across the net have been the best thing since Market Makers for scam artists and others seeking to take money away from others by posting rumors, innuendo, and such, to manipulate stock prices.
You may want to note, I'm not down on the company or the stock per se of TMMI. It looks like this company is trying to get things together and create a viable company.
