doug- while i am no expert- i will agree with the majority of what you say. However i think that the one phone line thing is great for all- here in NY i paid a rip off price of $250 plus to get my second line at home-PLUS i pay an extra 25+\- per month for its basic service- as the oldest of 5- there are two things in short supply growingup- bathroom and phone time- now with the internet- i am SURE that this additional expense for the phone is a price many parents can't or won't pay. computers are fairly cheap- but $20 for access-$25+{then add in all the phone calls that the kids will be making all the time} and the $250 plus service, software and accessories may be too much for lower middle america to pay. remember there are those that don't even have phones! {yes it's true!} taxi
