While government is incompetent at practically everything it does, there are some things that cannot be done any other way.

Government is exceptionally competent at 95% of what they do... it only makes news when they are not.

But more to the point, you could not even have a significant highway project without the government's ability to take property from those who don't want to give it up. We would have no interstates. We would have no roads, bridges, in fact, we would look pretty much like Afghanistan.

Ya see, government is EVERYTHING in this country.

Are you actually arguing AGAINST eminent domain?

No, but I know first hand the abuses. Not only did my family have >5000 acres taken for a recreational lake but my wife used to practice eminent domain law.
