repeat of the RTC days with 70's stagflation..only thing holding it together was the ability to grow MZM at 20-30% when needed without ramifications to long term rates backing up in a major way.

I think 70's style stagflation is a "good enough" analogy for the next several years.

My read on Mish was that he found something that worked for him. A mix of liberal angst/hate following Gore's defeat and the anguish following the loss of paper wealth. There's a whole history on SI between Mish and the clown thread. Suffice to say that Mish co-opted most of his themes from Hienz Blasnik, who was a perma bear precious metal investment adviser. From Heinz, Mish got his introduction to Rothbardian economic theory, which, itself, attracts those who want to spout economic themes without actually learning the theory of economics.
