Au Pair
<<Margaret. au pair. It is a french name. It stands for a girl or woman to come over here to help with housework etc. It is now being used as a nanny. They come in pairs sometimes and are contracted for 1 year. Pretty darn expensive. Generally 10.000 plus tuition for some schooling and of course free room and board. Of course you only contract for 1 nanny I guess. The second, sister or friend, will be close by.>>

Sonny,
What you described is humorous. Pair means equal. For room and board a foreign visitor will do housework and mind the children. They may come in pairs. French pair is different from English pair in meaning, in my understanding. Work equals food and board, simply put.

I am holding my feelings at the INTC downtrend and hoping that one day it will rise.

PS: On reading your post again, you did not say that pair means that they come in pairs. Wrong assumption on my part.
