spek..... i will be the 1st to admit that i am as undisciplined at times as the next guy/gal however...... one of the things that helps me is to post trades as i make them, in the appropriate forum, without giving the gory details of what i expect to happen. i have no idea what will happen to VLO but it appears to be a good entry for now and this board is filled with excellent information regarding all refiners. i have been doing this with my metal trades for some time on another board and it helps, believe me. whatever psychology you subscribe to, knowing that the potential is there for the board "experts" to pick apart your posted trade(s) can be a humbling tool and keeps you on your toes. FWIW, VLO now joins VZ, CVX, GG, and BA which are already members in the VLT (very long term) portfolio that my 3 daughters will eventually control either for higher education and/or investing only purposes. additions are and will be 2x/year; in june and december because thats when the bonus at the job is paid out. thanks for the feedback regards joe
