Amanta Resources Agrees Terms of Luang Namtha Copper Concession With the Government of the Lao PDR

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - June 9, 2008) - Amanta Resources Ltd. ("the Company") (TSX VENTURE: AMH.V) wishes to announce that the Government of the Lao PDR and the Company have finalised the terms of a Copper Mineral Exploration Concession in northern Laos.

Mr. Houmpheng Souralay, Director General of the Investment Promotion Department, Ministry of Planning and Investment, has formally invited Amanta to attend the official Signing Ceremony in respect of the Concession, which will be held on June 20th, 2008, in Vientiane, Lao PDR.

The Concession covers an area of 200 km2, in Long District, Luang Namtha Province, and Amanta will hold a 100% working interest in the Concession. The Company will commence its reconnaissance programmes shortly, and this will include an airborne Magnetic and EM survey over the concession area.

The Concession lies along the Yulong - Luang Namtha polymetallic porphyry belt which hosts a number of mines including the Yulong copper mine which has a reserve of some 630 million tonnes, grading 1.0% Cu.

Amanta is very pleased to have been granted this copper concession and looks forward to working with the Government of the Lao PDR, the Province of Luang Namtha and the Lao people, to develop this exciting opportunity for the Company.
