A national referendum in a tiny state, Ireland, on European constitution. If it fails, the European constitution is considered dead for awhile. Last time in June 2005 France voted it off and the EUR tanked from 1.34 to 1.26s and was on a bear trip for quite a while.

The media is lying about the polls peddling that the vote goes through but the market anticipates the true outcome (a fail).

The most obvious bet would be GBPEUR. Because if it fails the attitude of the UK british (to stay out of the Unionised currency) is "justified".

I am looking for a catalyst to revert GBP/EUR. Perhaps this one is good enough.
