Rogue, we will survive, we have massive North Slope oil up in Alaska, we have tons of land......
And we still have the greatest asset base on earth, we will survive.
It is just not going to be quite the same, it is going to take suffering and hard work, there will be no other choice.
We will survive, the INDU should be trading under 4000, we should see gold trading at a ratio of 1, we should see the average dividend yield up around 8 to 10% (this is why you own a stock in the first place, to collect a dividend), interest rates will be north of 15% - cash will be king,
There will be tons and tons of failures, stocks with high debt and no cash are finished, BK.....many individuals will be living in tent cities and helping take care of each other, but we will survive.
The suburban model we have built, sprawl, with no transportation with metros and trains will become deserted, but homeless will seek shelter in the ruins. But we will survive.
The life you and I have grown to know, to be able to go out into the street and play with your friends after school will no longer exist, after school activities will be working in the survival garden plot, but we will survive.
It is human nature to survive, and that will happen in America. We will pick up the pieces and rebuild, there will be not other choice.
Those that will suffer the most have not planned, they have squandered their chance, they did not pay down debt and lived way beyond their means......they may not survive!
Those that planned, moved to a place in the country, small town, garden, water - community, they will survive.
My father grew up overseas, at 13 he dug in trash cans to feed the family, 2 rooms and 8 kids. He saw bombs drop in the backyard, machine gun bullets strafe the kitchen......he survived and moved to America, worked 6 and 7 days a week, saved and built up a small company......he survived.
But it will all be different. America will always offer that chance to those that are willing to work hard, and save!
From it the market will rebuild, America will rebuild, I have faith in that, Americans are great people. Cycles will wash and rinse......we will grow back to the roots that made this nation the greatest on earth.
