No, but it's equally obvious that the poor don't "get a free ride" on taxes... just because the income tax is progressive. On almost all other taxes they are doing as much or more than the rich to support our communities (up to their means). And making a much larger sacrifice.

Property tax? That's the closest I've ever seen to a true "wealth tax," if anything.

Feels that way when you don't have kids. But it's not unless you feel you have to flaunt your wealth with a very expensive house.

Or are you just saying what you usually say, that taxes will always favor one group of people over the other, so why bother?

I never say "why bother". I'm very much into changing the tax code to improve decision making.
