Sure. We will ignore how Demming handed Detroit his design for quality stuff in the 1950s. What happened? Detroit ignored it, the Japanese embraced it, and the rest is, as they say, history.

American car companies are run by bean counters who can't see beyond the current quarter. Their labor costs could be zero and they still wouldn't be able to compete.

You are blaming the wrong people.

Not that is any great surprise.
