Wait, if McCain was a traitor who betrayed his country, why did you want Kerry to choose him as Veep?

BTW how many times did Kerry beg McCain to be his Veep anyway? Ten, twelve?

I understand McCain had to keep his Senate office door locked, but Kerry would get down on his hands and knees and stuff notes under the door and whisper, "John, John, please open up. I know you're there."
