I don't see how you can blame the Republicans for this mess.

Clinton vetoed drilling in ANWR nearly 15 years ago. Just today, the Democrats refused to allow drilling more than 50 miles offshore, which was utterly stupid. The refining capacity shortage is solely a result of the insane requirements of EPA and other liberal red tape.

Exactly what is it you want to blame the Republicans for? You talk about the "geopolitical risk", but that's not what is causing today's high prices (in fact, the geopolitical risk today is far less than it was two years ago -- then, Harry Reid was claiming we had "lost" the war in Iraq, and today, it is becoming clear that we are winning the war there).

This is about OPEC trying (and doing a pretty good job at it) to rape the rest of the world. While they can.
