Came across this in Gastem's 1st 1/4 '08, MD&A, talking about the first two wells on Gastem's Yamaska property in the St. Larry lowland area of Quebec, which Forest elected to frac and test, successfully in the Utica shale-
===

"During drilling operations at both sites, several high pressure gas kicks were recorded in the fractured Lorraine shales overlying the Utica. These gas accumulations will be the subject of additional investigation with a view to exploiting the Lorraine as a secondary production target where appropriate. Forest Oil undertook hydraulic fracture stimulation of the vertical well bore at St-François-du-lac"

So there is possibly a secondary target in the Lorraine. If this proves significant, well, yippee.

I will have to go back and research this, but I think at least one junior has joint ventured their rights to the Utica only, and retained 100% rights in the younger and older formations. This would include the Lorraine, and could prove to be a very bright move if the Lorraine is shown to be a producer. Stay tuned, need to research this.
