But we've all heard the story about how the actor who played him died of lung cancer. I wasn't sure that was true, so I just looked it up on snopes.com. They say that in fact, there were several actors who played that part, and that TWO of them did in fact die of cancer that originated in the lungs. One of the two was the actor most closely associated with the role, having played it in a very large number of TV commercials, and having appeared in numerous print ads. Two Marlborough Men died of lung cancer. And kids today think they know what irony is. Ha! - Allen
