Yes $250K and above would be a Big Hairy Aggresive Goal for this indication. This $ figure would be for the procedure kit and not just the individual balloon sales. A higher ASP $200-$300 or more translates into under 1,000 procedures for the December quarter. Eight field reps of GSI and 5 distributors will be flogging this product, hope they hit some paydirt.

Generally sugeons are reluctant to change anything about procedures (thankfully); however, it appears that some of them are moving toward this indication quickly. Previously the incision to harvest the Saphenous Vein was one of the longest of any surgical procedure affecting the body. Infection and wound healing could be problematic and patients complained about the pain associated with the cut. Readmission into the hospital over the cut (when it does not heal properly) is a possibility.

Added cost is still an issue. Competition is still a very big issue. Learning curve is still an issue. Patient satisfaction appears NOT to be an issue. By all accounts patients are very happy with the procedure. GSI sued GDT over their Vasoview harvest product. JNJ is selling into this market and will butt heads with GSI (highly ironic that JNJ is GSI's big marketing partner). USS (GSI's old marketing partner) is selling in this field as well.

What got you interested in GSI?

Regards,
