Before the war, we were expecting another terror attack in our homeland. AQ was publicly proclaiming more such attacks were coming. AQ were heroes throughout the Muslim world. Egyptian taxi-drivers, college students, you name it, they thought the 911 attack was a great victory for Muslims.

By taking the war into the Arab homeland, AQ's terror attacks were directed there and AQ has now mostly lost favor due to its killing of Muslims.

Frankly, when the Iraq war ends our chances of another terror attack in America may start to increase again.
