Why are you so focused on this "use it or lose it" idea? Because we are in crisis mode... and frankly it appears the oil companies are dragging us down abit farther than we have already dragged ourselves. It is a conundrum... they are looking at current sentiment, and probably figure that vehicles will get much more efficient, and demand will decrease. So why invest in expensive projects to get hard to get oil well below sea level? Instead they ride the wave of high profits....
