Kate, I think at 92 if your mother has only a hint of prejudice she is pretty amazing. I am guessing that it is really going to show up in the 65 and up age group. There will be half of them that marched, and half that still believe in separate water fountains deep in their psyche. Your mom sounds truly wonderful. Like my mom in law, who ran her city's central kitchen for the schools in the 60s and 70s. We sometimes talk about the sexism she encountered. (Although she laughs and says, well, sometimes it worked to our benefit.) She is a true feminist- not the silly kind who rely on symbols and superficial crap, but the real kind. However, she's a conservative, and really dislikes Hillary. I think I would prefer a dinner with our moms for some honest discourse!
