You know how certain righties on this thread aka inoys and Brumar have been crowing about how Bush has broken up AQ in Iraq. Well, the US military has confiscated AQ tapes and documents. It turns out that AQ admits they have been diminished......the reason? A backlash has developed over their semi public executions of Iraqis. They now admit that was a mistake and caused the local populations to retaliate. No mention of the US military having an impact. It also turns out that most of the AQ leaders in Iraq were Iraqis, not foreigners as suggested by Cheney. One disturbing aspect revealed is the kind of detail AQ maintained.......it had very good accounting records on expenses, income.......every associated with their operation in Iraq. A still more disturbing find was the detailed drawings of a US military base.......suggesting they have spies located within the base.

And in spite of their weakened state.......they were able to commit six suicide bombings in the past week as well as other activities.

Finally, I heard on the news tonite that Iraq may cost us as much 2.7 trillion dollars. Its a huge disaster and drain on the treasury. It makes me sick.
