6/13/08 update
Although they lost the Friday the 13th round, the bears still won the week's tug-of-war. By Friday's close both the Nasdaq Composite Index and the Nasdaq Biotech Index had lost ground, with the NCI down -7.46% YTD (vs. down -6.70% YTD a week ago) and the NBI down -4.75% YTD (vs. down -2.60% YTD a week ago). The Contest portfolio median was also off for the week, closing down -10.33% YTD (vs. down -9.68% YTD a week ago).
At week's end, 8 of the 33 Contest portfolios were in the black YTD with 11 of the portfolios beating the NBI. GENE's portfolio widened its lead, closing the week with a 92.8% YTD gain while second place ROBERT's portfolio finished the week with a 27.9% YTD gain.
