Kind of drag, but given the limited number of text messages I send, paying 5 cents apiece for them is probably going to be cheaper than buying bundles in advance.

Heavy texters will probably already have opted for the ten dollar per month, unlimited messages plan.


I never used to text but the iPhone suckered me into it. I really liked the threaded nature of the conversations and after years of wondering why anybody would ever text have become a moderate texter <g>.

The combination of the extra $200 and the $15 extra a month adds up to an extra $560 over the life of the contract. I wont be first in line but my guess is that I'll sell my current iPhone and get the 3G version after a couple of weeks/months.
