Sigh, Karen I didn't mean my comments as a personal attack on you

And I didn't take them as one. Even if I had, I would just work around them to try to get the focus back on the arguments. Your personal attack comment is a red herring.

If the point you wished to make with that link was that privatization plans were common rather than you thought privatization plans were a good thing,

I wasn't making any point with the link other that the standard SI courtesy of posting links to go with quoted references. It's just like putting a footnote in a term paper. De rigeur.

it made sense to say so and here was a bit of information to that effect.

I DID say so. I said "FWIW, McCain isn't alone in this initiative" followed by a single quoted sentence listing the company he was in. That was it. Now, what does that mean other than "privatization plans [are] common"? Nothing. Everything else was your inference.

I should not have to anticipate all the inferences you might make and counter them pro-actively. That's more work than I'm willing to do and way more effort than courtesy requires. Actually, what courtesy requires is actively reading what is written and only what is written.

The reason I make an issue of these things is because they are evidence of the kind of polarized thinking that goes on, one of my hobby horses. Post one thing that doesn't validate the party line and right away the poster is assumed to be some other-end-of-the-spectrum stereotype. This was a good example of that so I made an example of it.
