without clarifying actual definitions of status very clearly, you wind up with challenges. One might say that the challenging is part of our standard clarification process. We get laws, and interpretations of laws by the ex branch, then challenges to laws, then interpretations by the judicial branch, and on and on. I think somebody already wrote that yesterday or today. That's how we sort things out, historically. But in this case we have people cooling their heels in Guantanamo while the sorting out is going on and that's not right. Seems to me we have a new paradigm here. We're not in Kansas anymore. For that reason I think it should be addressed head on, not left to sort itself out in the usual protracted way.
