Thanks, but I'll stick with my comment. Your response doesn't really demonstrate that it is "ill informed".

You say that a lack of skilled employees is the largest constraint to developing new supplies. So that would mean that Bob's constant harping on the evil and/or foolish politicians who won't allow the oil companies to drill in ANWR and elsewhere is misplaced? Interesting.

So the oil companies want access to oil fields that are easier to drill, so that they can use employees who are less skilled? Is that it?

I'll grant that, for the sake of argument.

But that doesn't change the fact that the oil companies are currently able to fill every order they get, and that they are raking in huge profits doing it.

I am open to information that shows that the oil companies don't have enough oil to fill their orders. If you want to provide some, go ahead. And maybe you could answer the question of why Brazil is able to exploit their new off-shore oil fields, but our oil companies can't find enough skilled workers to exploit the ones they've already gotten permits for.
