Quehubo -

I haven't seen posts of good quality on the other side. The Coleman piece posted yesterday is a terrible mish-mash of logical errors. He cites some letter signed by "31,000 scientists", a whopping 9,100 of whom are PhDs. He says that's more than the 2,500 scientists in the IPC. That's an argument by numbers, and it's just not logically valid. There was a time, not even that long ago, when the vast majority of educated people believed the earth was flat.

Plus, who are these 31,000 scientists and what are their qualifications? Do they have any expertise in climatology? Is this like that long-discredited document from 1999, which was signed by thousands of high-school biology teachers and the like? Is it, in fact, the same document recycled? Give me a break.
