What he should do instead is fly up to the Tundra of Alaska, stand in the middle of area 10-02 and give an impassioned speech outlining how he has been trying for 7 years to help our nation become energy independent by drilling for the estimated 10 billion dollars of oil that sits beneath us. He should also explain that over 75% of Alaskan citizens support the effort, along with the Inupiat Eskimos who live in and around ANWR.

Then he should fly down to Prudoe Bay and give another speech describing what kind of peril our nation would be in if the same nuckleheads preventing exploration in ANWR were in office in the 1970's.

Then he should give another speech to the local union members who have high paying jobs in Prudhoe Bay, and describe how 25K good paying union jobs would be created if we were allowed to drill in ANWR.

Then he should visit the local wildlife agency near Prudoe Bay and give a speech describing how fantastic the herds of Caribou have done since drilling in Prudoe Bay began.

Then he should fly down to Perry, LA and visit the Rainey Wildlife Sanctuary and give a speech describing how the National Audubon Society has been earning over 25 million dollars a year by allowing industry to pump oil and gas from 37 wells in the midst of its sensitive habitat for snow geese, which migrate every year from ANWR. Then ask the rhetorical question whether they would support drilling in ANWR if they were receiving similar royalties?

Do you believe oil and gas exploration should or should not be allowed within the ANWR Coastal Plain?
REGION
RED=support for opening ANWR
BLUE=Does not support opening ANWR
