I can see your point to a certain extent MJ. There are some social skills that are developed in a good preschool program too though. I've read articles that indicate children that attend preschool have an easier time adjusting....

IMO the overall stumbling block for the entire primary educational system are the unions. Until we get the unions out of education and get back to an incentive based system for teachers and get the dead wood out, I've little hope that anything, including injecting more money, will change our current situation. The only way we're going to get the unions out of education is by implementing a school voucher program. We absolutely must get competition back in our schools....
