Mindmeld, > Thank you, Ten, for posting another non-answer. You're becoming more like Harris.

I don't think you get it. Of course it was a non-answer.

For years we've been told how great it was when Clinton was president without being told exactly how Clinton achieved such greatness. It's always been, "Well Clinton must have done something right." That's intellectual laziness ... from the party of "intellectuals."

Same reasoning was used to denounce the economy under Bush, which has consistently grown but never at the rate of the dot-com boom of the late 90's. "Oh Bush isn't doing enough. It wasn't like this when Clinton was president." Such nonsense is used to appeal to emotion. Never mind the bad hand that was dealt to Bush in the form of a dot-com bomb and 9/11 which happened shortly afterwards.

Now the Democrats have control of Congress, which is probably what Bush deserved. But it should be plain and obvious to anyone that the Dems are invested in recession and in America's defeat abroad. Hence when the Iraq war drags on (though casualties hit a multi-year low last month) and when gas shoots above $4/gallon, the Democrats do nothing but use it as campaign issues. After all, why look a gift horse in the mouth? Their goal is the White House and a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate.

Is it clearer now?
