Melting glaciers mean that at the time of the melting and the location of the glaciers it is warmer than it was when they weren't melting. A found bone means that some creature died there a long time ago.
One or two melting glaciers means what you say it means. But when glaciers all over the world are melting year after year, and photographs taken over a period of decades shows not only are they melting, but great majority of them are clearly retreating at increasing rates--that means something else.
But retreating glaciers are the only piece of evidence that people point to, as I've said in earlier posts. There are a whole host of data points that are consistent with warming and change.
All that said, I've said what I've said, on this and other boards. Dale appears to think that I or others have tossed out "hand grenades" in posts. I'm not sure what hand grenades I've thrown, unless to say things like, I've had that conversation before (e.g., on Coleman's spiel) and don't really want to have it again, constitutes a hand grenade. I'm not really interested in "discussing" the subject with people who are "deniers," I am really only interested in presenting and discussing pros and cons of data points (e.g., what is happening at the poles, in the oceans, with species migrations northward or to higher elevations, etc.) and policy initiatives, difficulties and possibilities.
