The oildrum blog is much too biased toward peak oil theory PO isn't a 'theory' .. It's a fact .. You can't have infinite production growth from a finite resource .. The only outstanding question is the timing/date of the maximum rate of extraction .. All these new finds are in difficult/expensive to develop locations and when they do come online will only serve to shallow out the overall depletion rate of previously developed oil fields .. If the global oil resource was plentiful and easy to obtain we wouldn't be spending tens of billions of dollars to mine 'sand' in order to extract it .. Triff ..
