I mentioned a while back that I have been enjoying various Torrontes wines lately. Last night I had one from Argentina by Zolo, $8.99 at the local BevMo. A very pleasant quaff ... better in the context, in fact, than the 2006 Dave Selby Reserve Chardonnay ($40) which preceded it. I do like Suzie Selby's wines, but the only ones of hers that would qualify for this board are the inventory clearance specials ... like the several cases of Laughing Raven I recently got for $5 a bottle. This is a Sonoma Barbera made entirely in stainless steel ... not on a par with a top flight Piemontese version, but a very enjoyable second bottle!
