"That you would use Cuba as a basis for implying the US in not imperialistic." isn't much of a point, perhaps you should rephrase it.

In any case what I used Cuba for was a basis for the idea that we leave territory we conquered in many cases, rather than trying to annex it, and make it part of the US, or rule it as part of an American empire without annexing it. Its one of many cases like that. If we where so massively imperialistic we would have at the very least made a much bigger effort to retain what we had taken control of.
