If speculation is truly behind the huge run up in Oil prices then one might assume anything that is traded can be run up on speculation. The idea being that spec dollars could chase any tradeable entity and cause a huge run up in fair value.

Question: Has the price variant of Oil differed in other countries as much as the United States ? And then to what degree of difference. Oil is priced in Dollars for many countries but not for all global sales.
