Looks like you have gotten Tenchu's dictionary. 'Consensus' does not mean 100%. Of scientists working in the field, a large majority are in agreement.

The planet will survive. It has survived having 99% of existing species being wiped out more than once. If you are a rock, no big deal. If you are an organism, well, the odds suck. Our output of CO2 is increasing at an exponential rate. Now, true, at some point you run out of fossil fuels and the problem solves itself. But, until then, exponential rates can cause big changes in a short period of time.
