Re : Denial III

You also seem to cite Intel with grave authority. You guys really are hooked.

If Intel says 30% of the retail market, you think that is insignificant? Nearly a third of the PC
market is going for inexpensive component based chips!!! Intel's bargain basement is now open.
Get your 166's, 150's, 200's, 200MMX's, old Pentium Pros etc etc. ITs called a GLUT.

Your 1/3 of 5% figure (supposedly the US share of the global market which I cannot beleive)
doesn't seem to be in sync with the economic downturn in Asia and Europe. Those markets are
shrinking not growing. So everything must be bad everywhere for Intel.

And don't worry because they will sell the chipsets??? Really, I thought they were abandoning
Socket 7? to AMD. Hmmmm.

Oh and I almost forgot. ITs workstations and servers where they are really making the sales huh.
That is a much smaller segment of the market and even there, there is no reason to believe lower
cost chip substitution will not and is not taking place.

Intel's margins are toast.
