Horgad,

>However now that they have broken the restaurants and bars out of the "smoking" section mindset. I wouldn't mind if they lifted those specific laws and let capitalism run its course. Before there were basically zero no smoking restaurants and bars to choose from (there was no balance). Now that the mindset has been broken things MIGHT work out OK and we MIGHT get some reasonable balance of smoking and non-smoking establishments. <

With all due respect this is all nonsense.

There is no chance at all that the left would accept BOTH smoking and non-smoking establishments now or ever. That was never the intent. The intent was to eliminate smoking anywhere and everywhere they could because they don't approve of it. Personally, I don't approve either. I just don't want to dictate to others whether or not they should smoke, drink, gamble, have sex with the same gender, have same sex civil unions, etc... I am consistent.

It would have been easy to implement laws that would have discouraged smoking in bars, restaurants, pool rooms etc... but allowed the free market to dictate the results.
