Hillary is not some small time politician. If anything, she is very calculating. There is no reason for her to do something purely on the basis that it will buttress her ego.

Her fortunes and her future are tied to the democratic party. Her opponents may not like it, but she is here to stay. She will continue to be a force in national politics and in the democratic party.

To ascribe her motives to what she would like to do in four years is not realistic. She is if nothing else, a realist. She knows four years is a long time and that anything can happen.

She also knows that for her own self interest, she just has to plug away and do what is best for her country. She has been plugging away her entire life.

To assign to her petty and selfish little motives does no one any good.
