John, why do so many people from PA go Dem so often? Do they think Obama will support more coal mining? Do they think Obama can MAKE car manufacturers make cars that are not profit making? Do they think Obama can make steel manufacturers make steel here in the US at a profit?

I really am interested because PA is so much of a former manufacturing state, but with Labor costs through the roof, it has become much less so.

In WA, also a heavy Dem state, it is the Left coasters who put it in that column...the Eastern part of the State (where Smithee is) is largely farming, orchards, wine, wheat fields, etc... the Western part of the state, mostly the state is run by 5 heavily populated counties in this Western side, is mostly populated by lawyers, unions, and politicos.....and as of about 20-25 years ago, HiTec companies, mostly populated by techies who are idealists with LOTS of money.
