No you're suggesting a penalty tax - when they already pay their fair share via gasoline taxes on a per gallon basis.

No they don't. They raise everybody's cost far more than the 18 cents a gallon in fed taxes.

It gets back to the classic liberal idea of progressive taxes - yet this time in reverse where the poor who can't afford a more economical vehicle pay a use tax and the rich get a tax break.

You get $5K a year and anyone can afford a $25K car. You probably set it up as a direct payment on the loan.
