Well, I think you can see one side of the argument, that the Obama campaign, Axelrod specifically, wanted to hire her because they think well of her and because of the Hispanic background. But had no high level place to put her. I have no doubt they are aware of the signals they are sending by putting her, however, as the chief of staff for the vp. I don't know how often it's done that way. Never even noticed the problem. As for Nunn, I'm hoping Obama goes elsewhere. He does bring the national security stuff and is much to be admired for his work on nuclear proliferation but he strikes me as a wooden campaigner, would bother some of Obama's supporters on cultural issues, and I doubt would bring Obama Georgia.
