Ted, this is outrageous. Making home-schooling illegal would be one of the biggest intrusions of government into the rights of parents. In a society that values freedom and individuality, parents ought to be trusted to know how best to raise and educate their children. Sure, you take out the abusive ones with a vengeance, but outlawing home-schooling pretty much means forcing every child to conform to whatever educational curriculum the state deems necessary "for the good of society."
