Again, thanks for the data.

We see that China and India are increasing imports of oil. They are still very far behind the US in terms of their consumption.

According to those figures, China is importing roughly 4.4 million bpd this year, and India is running well below that rate, at about 2.4 million bpd.

I'm interested in knowing is how US oil companies are doing in terms of increasing production. I know, large areas are off limits to them. But that doesn't mean they have nowhere to drill. Have they been bringing any new areas to production? Have they been able to increase production in the Gulf of Mexico in the past several years?

I tried to find information about that on the Exxon Mobile website, but all I could find was a page saying that they are producing more gasoline in the US, due to increased refining capacity.
