I think someone slipped a decimal point in those calculations.

A more realistic number would, I suspect, put the average home use at around 20000 units a year, not 1000 (look at your own power bill to check for reasonableness!). I happen to have just added up my 2007 useage. It came to 17970 Kwh, for a 100% electrical house (heat in a cold climate in a very well insulated small house, cooking, the lot).

Al Gore, then, is perhaps using 10 to 20 times as much as J6P, not 100 to 200 times. He is just another common or garden McMansion owner.
