I don't have any final answers either. But I think we need to ask ourselves many more questions before we take the side of wholesale legalization. Maybe - just maybe - we ARE winning the war on drugs? Maybe not in the way it was meant and intended, but at least we allow social taboos to survive - for now, until we'll figure out what we are dealing with. For we don't know. It is easy to underestimate what modern psychopharmacology and neurophysiology are capable of.

Otoh, a city like Amsterdam was traditionally quite tolerant of drug use - and they are still more or less healthy and sane.

More questions than answers.

BTW, I disagree about antidepressants. Maybe they are used a bit too widely, but to those who suffer from true depression those drugs are - literally - a life saver.
