The bottom line is you don't know what Obama would try to do, and frankly, he doesn't, either, because he doesn't understand enough about the political environment (with merely 3 years experience as a Senator) to know what can even BE done.

The keyword in your post, however, is "subsidies". Any "solution" that involves significant subsidies is a non-starter, in that "subsidies" do not in any way improve the economics of a bad energy source.

Like the oil subsidies?

As previously pointed out, the most promising alternative energy source -- wind -- is already getting off the ground -- and that is happening under Bush.

Geo thermal is by far the most economical with wind in second place... and wind is subsidized. But neither of those get us off oil although they can contribute to the increased demand for electricity as we move to plug in hybrids and eventually electric cars.

Your lack of understanding of this problem is nothing short of amazing.
