research.gold.org Demand based on price being high has decreased. I think inflation which is world wide has to have an impact and increase the production cost of gold. That combined with a far more eco sensitive era to me seems to mean a higher base cost. Fair market price minus commodity spec is where the answer lies and I certainly do not know that answer.
