Secondly, teaching is one of the most exhausting professions there is. I would not have said that three short months ago. However, my student teaching has been a major wake up call.

I cannot speak for high school teachers, but I've taught numerous college courses and as long as you know your shit when you walk in the door, I can say that it is nothing compared with real work.

I'm sure the public school teaching environment is substantially different, but I would never have thought of it as exhausting work.
